Granada Hills Attorney Tamila Jensen Named President of San Fernando Valley Bar Association

Highly regarded Valley lawyer appointed to lead 2,000-member local bar association

Granada Hills, Calif. (Lexis Nexis) January 14, 2009 -- January 14, 2009 - Tamila Jensen, an accomplished attorney who has been practicing law in California for more than three decades, has been named president of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association (SFVBA).

For 75 years, the SFVBA has been a strong voice for the San Fernando Valley legal community and the residents of the Valley. One of the premier local bar associations in California, the SFVBA consists of more than 2,000 members who respond to the needs of the community by donating time and resources to the association's various public resource programs.

"I am pleased and honored to be selected as the new president of the SFVBA and look forward to leading our organization as we continue the good work that the association has become known for over the past several decades," said Jensen. "In addition to helping Valley attorneys develop their legal practices with professional networking and legal education opportunities, we hope to improve our community outreach efforts to assist residents of the area with their personal legal challenges."

Jensen is a native Californian who has practiced law for 34 years. She is also a law professor and published author on real estate law, as well as a variety of other legal topics.

Jensen's practice is currently focused on elder law, estate planning, real estate and family law. She also provides a wide range of other legal services to small businesses and individuals.

"Our elder law practice is designed to help people with all sorts of issues that arise as a person ages," said Jensen. "This can include estate planning and preparing for the time when assistance may be needed to manage the challenges of daily life. It can also include more complex legal challenges - such as conservatorships, probate, trust administration and long-term care planning - and even the tragedy of elder abuse, whether it is physical or financial in nature."
