PRWeb Hires Managing Editor for Newswire Services
Kathy Sheehan, a former newspaper reporter, will oversee editorial services and standards for PRWeb, PRWeb Direct and eMediaWire.
Ferndale, WA (Lexis Nexis) May 4, 2005 -- PRWeb, one of the largest distributors of news releases and the industry leader in online visibility of press releases, has appointed Kathy Sheehan as managing editor.
Sheehan is a former newspaper reporter, journalism instructor and publications editor who will oversee editorial services and standards for PRWeb, PRWeb Direct and eMediaWire.
Begun in 1997 as a free press release newswire, PRWeb has since expanded to include a service bureau, PRWebDirect, offering enhanced search engine optimization, press release writing services and targeted e-mail distribution to more than 100,000 media outlets, industry analysts and other subscribers. Sheehan brings experience as a daily newspaper reporter and editor for some 20 years in Philadelphia, Boston, Atlantic City, N.J., and Bellingham, Wash. She was most recently employed as an editor for several print and online publications at Western Washington University in Bellingham where she was also a part-time journalism instructor.
